A Little History: The "Why" Behind the Focus View

The Focus View was designed to provide a distraction-free environment for translating longer content. By hiding the broader context of the Global View, it allows translators to concentrate solely on the segment at hand, which can be incredibly helpful for complex, descriptive texts.

At the beginning, the Focus View had more features compared to the Global View.

Over time, we've received a wide range of anecdotal feedback. Some teams have integrated it deeply into their workflow and prefer it for its simplicity. Others find themselves exclusively using the power and context of the Global View. To move forward, we need to go beyond anecdotes and gather clear, quantitative data from everyone.

To make this process easy and transparent, we've added a new poll directly within the Locize UI. When you log in, you will be prompted to share your opinion on the Focus View.

How We're Gathering Your Feedback in Real-Time

You might notice that the poll results update instantly after you vote. We're excited to be one of the first platforms to use a new, secure component from our friends at Vaultrice for this feature. Their @vaultrice/react-components library allows us to build and deploy engaging, real-time features like this with confidence and security. It makes the process of gathering your feedback a live, transparent, and collaborative experience.
