Buying Locize through
procurement
Locize has no sales team, which is good news for developers and occasionally awkward for finance departments. This page answers the questions procurement and finance actually ask, so nobody has to open a ticket to find out whether they can buy at all.
The short version
Every answer in one table. The detail is further down.
| Reseller or partner purchase | No reseller programme, but a third party can pay on behalf of the customer |
| Purchase orders | Yes, add your PO number as a custom invoice field on the billing page |
| Bank transfer / invoicing | Yes, on Enterprise (and legacy usage-based subscriptions), in USD, EUR, CHF and GBP, 21-day terms |
| Annual prepayment | No, billing is monthly for actual usage |
| Vendor onboarding forms | Usually yes; we are a Swiss company, so W-8BEN-E applies for US buyers |
| Your own contract | Send it over and we will answer quickly either way |
| Security documents | DPA, privacy, security and terms are public; no ISO or SOC certification |
Paying by bank transfer
This is the question we are asked most often, so here are the exact conditions rather than a promise to discuss it.
Invoicing means Locize delivers the service before the money arrives, so it unlocks once a subscription has a short payment history. After that, an admin or accountant switches the subscription from credit card to invoicing on the billing page, without contacting us and without a new contract. Invoices carry the bank details for your currency, your own billing information, and any custom fields you have set, such as a purchase order number.
If your organisation cannot pay by card at all, even for the first months, tell us before you subscribe and we will look at your case.

The detail
Can we buy Locize through a reseller or partner?
Locize has no reseller programme, no partner tier and no reseller discount, so there is no formal reseller status to grant. What is possible, and what we do regularly: a third party can pay on behalf of the customer. The subscription stays attached to the customer's own Locize project, while an agency, IT partner or procurement intermediary is entered as the billing contact and receives the invoices. The price is the same one published on the pricing page.
Can we put our purchase order number on the invoice?
Yes, and you can do it yourself. The billing page lets you add up to two custom invoice fields, each with a label you choose and a value of up to 30 characters, which is where most customers put a purchase order number or a cost centre. The fields are stored with your billing profile, so from then on they appear on every invoice and on the invoice PDF you download, whether you pay by credit card or by bank transfer. Anyone with the admin or accountant role can set them, and they can also be filled in at the moment you switch to invoice payment. What Locize does not run is a PO approval or matching workflow of its own: the number simply travels on the invoice so that your finance system can match it.
Can we pay by bank transfer or invoice instead of a credit card?
Yes, on the Enterprise plan (and on legacy usage-based subscriptions), in USD, EUR, CHF and GBP. Payment terms are 21 days, and the invoice carries the bank details for your currency, including wire and ACH details for USD, IBAN and SWIFT/BIC for EUR and CHF, and sort code and account number for GBP. Because invoicing means we deliver the service before payment arrives, it unlocks after a short payment history: roughly three paid invoices of about USD 140 or more (or the equivalent in your currency) over the preceding months. Once eligible, an admin or accountant can switch an existing subscription from credit card to invoicing on the billing page without contacting us.
Can we prepay for a year?
No. Locize bills monthly, in arrears, for what was actually used, and the amount therefore is not known in advance. That is a consequence of usage-based pricing rather than a commercial preference: a fixed annual amount would either overcharge you in quiet months or leave the invoice wrong in busy ones. If your organisation needs to reserve budget for the year, the pricing page and your own recent invoices are the right basis for an estimate, and we are happy to sanity-check that estimate with you.
Can you complete our vendor onboarding forms?
Usually yes. Locize is operated by inweso GmbH, a Swiss company, so for United States buyers the applicable tax form is the W-8BEN-E rather than a W-9. We have completed standard vendor registration and supplier-portal onboarding for enterprise customers before. Send the forms to support@locize.com and we will tell you quickly whether we can complete them as they stand. Very large or heavily customised questionnaires may be chargeable, for the same reason described under security documents below.
Can we sign our own contract or framework agreement?
Our standard terms cover the great majority of purchases and are published at locize.com/terms, alongside the data processing agreement at locize.com/dpa. Some organisations, public-sector buyers in particular, cannot purchase without signing their own contract. Send the document to support@locize.com and we will give you a clear yes or no quickly rather than leaving you waiting. We would rather tell you early that an agreement is not something we can sign than have your procurement process stall on it.
What security and compliance documents can you provide?
The data processing agreement, privacy policy, security overview and terms are all published and can be linked directly in your vendor file: locize.com/dpa, locize.com/privacy, locize.com/security and locize.com/terms. Locize does not hold ISO 27001 or SOC 2 certification, and we would rather say so plainly than imply otherwise. Short security questionnaires that our published documents do not already answer are fine to send. Extensive custom questionnaires take real engineering time away from the product, so those are chargeable.
Documents for your vendor file
All of these are public pages, so you can link them directly in your own systems instead of chasing signed copies by mail.
